Marathon DJs

Great DJs and music is the most important of every event

DJ timetable - who's behind the decks right now ?

DJ Kakah

Brazil

DJ Kakah is internationally known for her music work with Brazilian Zouk, Bachata and Kizomba. She not only remixes songs but also produces original music for all dance styles. Her songs already surpass 30 million views across streaming platforms. A successful career that comes from years of training in music and dance.

She has worked for various events all around Brazil including all of the major festivals in the country. And the list goes on internationally. Reaching almost every continent, she headlines major events in every one of them.

Over the years she has also collaborated with a list of singers producing music for Brazilian Zouk and Kizomba.

  • • Paulo Mac - Brazil
  • • Archie & Sizzle - USA
  • • Rebeca Sol - USA
  • • Lisa Li - France
  • • Zimous - Portugal

One of those songs attained a huge success reaching 350k views on Youtube in less than 2 months and became the most played hit in 2015. Nowadays, her original song "Safe Place" hits more than a million plays on Spotify giving her verification as an artist on the stream platform.

Aside from her work with music, Kakah organizes events in Fortaleza, Brazil and also trains people as a dance instructor. She also dedicates herself into teaching new DJs/Producers in the creation of music and dancers into the art of musicality specifically for people who wants to understand better about the Brazilian Zouk culture.

DJ Sasha X

United States
DJ Sasha X is an international music producer & DJ, currently based in New York City. He has DJed at all major Zouk Festivals in the United States as well as many in Canada & Europe. DJ Freddy

Netherlands
I started to be a DJ already in 1980 ;-) with all kinds of music. At that time disco, soul, pop, classics all what people wanted to hear and make them crazy and gave them a fun time at the disco in town. 2003 i started to dance Salsa and right away the asked me can you play music. Ofcourse i said. Always collecting records, cd’s, downloads, iTunes of music i like. I have also Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, Zouk, Kizomba music. 2004 i started to learn Zouk with many friends who dance now so good and yes i was already again the DJ. It gives me energy, a smile and a really good feeling inside myself to see dancers dance allnight long. Enjoying the time on the dance floor. I try to play for all Zouk dancers because there are so many different kind of styles we can dance zouk on if you have an open dance mind. My favorite style is to let them dance 3 songs together in a dance flow. That they are feeling each other in dance and emotion. Away from everyone on the dancefloor just the two of you in the Zouk dance. 3 songs that can be together in a flow. for example Slow R&B, Lyrical & Neo. Flying above the dance floor ;-) Or midtempo popsong, original Zouk song and a Remix! ;-) I wanna dance too and be a better dancer but it seems i am still more a DJ. Have Fun, Enjoy All Zouk Marathon’s, Every Marathon is a special one and make it an Amazing time again together! Zouk Love & Big Hug. Freddy.

DJ Hush Z

Poland

For HUSHZ being a DJ is basically something he arrived at after patiently building this craft from many elements.

His will to live is driven by musical phrases which helped him with his main occupation as a classical music double bass player or obtaining musical degree. Obviously, that was not enough, so he also explored territories of composing and producing music from scratch using both physical instruments as well as digital modelling. On that field he also released two albums of zouk remixes and one album including tracks he composed and produced completely on his own.

Breathing music for most of his life made him fall in love with a wide variety of different genres. Years of listening, studying and making music gave him a deep understanding of emotional messages stated in songs which he appreciates very deeply to share with dancers he plays for.

Hundreds of performances he gave as a DJ and professional musician helped him develop the ability to read the audience at practically an instinctive level. It also taught him unquestionable professionalism and dedication. He never finds any issues with adapting to events he performs at, from cosy small meetings to full blown zouk congresses.

Also, as an active member of the zouk community he enjoys any non-musical contact with potential audiences greatly. This is mainly because he feels constant gratitude for having a chance to share music he loves with others.

DJ Viking

Norway
Petter has his background in music from an early age, playing multiple instruments and dedicating around 10 years to playing in bands and creating music. In the beginning of 2013, Petter started with Brazilian Zouk and a new passion exploded inside him. Through the years, until today, Petter has been a very active, hardworking zouk enthusiast helping to build the Zouk Oslo Norway scene, and traveling around the world, multiple times, to learn more about zouk. His passion has grown alot, and Petter has been a regular dancer and DJ to see/meet around in Europe's zouk scene. The most importent to him, is "to feel the dance and to feel the music". He focuses on a great variety of music during his DJ sets, and mostly original songs without to much crazy effects and added beats. As a DJ, he wants to bring everyone on a journey through the language of zouk and music, and bring the dancers closer to each other. He always try to create a magical atmosphere, and represent every style, mixed in with both new and old styles of zouk music. As a dancer, he focuses on clear leading, bringing trust and comfort to his partner, and enjoying together the music with flow, dynamique and musicality. Being connected through the pillars of the zouk dance language is always his favourite thing to do. DJing has been a natural evolution from being a experienced musician, and no matter if Petter teach, dance, DJ he always says he want to contribute to an unique and special energy, that only zoukers can create together. Petter loves the Prague Zouk Marathons and love being apart of the events every season, every year. Lets enjoy together soon. Zouk and love, from DJ Viking.

DJ Kron

Czechia

My whole life is connected with music, not only by playing instrument since my childhood but I always loved listening all sort of music and collecting it. And somehow it happends that I was given the opportunity to use my joy and taste of music to make people on the dancefloor happy. I am trying to learn something new on every event, adapt the music and mood I am playing to the dancers of different communities and countries.

I am playing mostly on events in Brno, my hometown and I am also heading to play to Poland, Romania, Croatia and Prague and others. If I should speak about my prefered style and mood of music, it would be beatless songs, chill and soft. So my favourite time of playing is in the morning or whenever the mood is more relaxed and smooth and cosy. I try to feel the people on the dance floor and provide them fluent energy and satisfy their current dancing mood. I also try to challenge their musicality by expressing music that is not so usual and traditional zouk music.

  • "The environment, the experience, the vibe, the dancers, the laughs and the smiles, and the huge amount of dancing all weekend. This was most definitely the marathon where I danced the most out of all the marathons I've attended! I'm still amazed and surprised how much energy the marathon gave me to dance so many hours non-stop!"

  • "This marathon was the very best festival, I´ve ever been. Starting with this incredible love in each detail, from the decoration, to the beanbags for resting and relaxing in your dancebreak, to the peppermints on every table and the refreshing stuff in the toilets. I love this very unique concept of "all inclusive". Because usually on festivals you need big breaks for finding restaurants and having meals there. Often people eat chep fastfood, just to "have something". And many people forget drinking, because it´s too expensive. But in this case the "food around the clock" (including water, tea and coffe) was incredible! Each meal consisted of a varied, nutritious buffet with options for every taste - including cakes and fresh fruit and vegetables. The options for gluten-free and vegan diets were just as varied and everything was very tasty. The organiser Zdenek & his Prague Kizz team were incredibly attentive and caring, as was the catering team in a gorgeous venue that couldn't have been better suited. The DJs were great and played wonderful music - some of it really uniquely grandiose. And finally the dancers - never before have I experienced so many attentive and loving dancers at a festival. Everyone danced with everyone else and no-one thought they were ‘better’ than anyone else - even though everyone had a high standard of dancing. During this weekend it really felt like one big, cosy family. I am happy to recommend this festival to true dance lovers who appreciate this special and truly unique combination and I am already looking forward to the next meeting with the Prague Kizz family!"

  • "I always feel so welcome here! The atmosphere is amazing and people are all very open to meet and dance with new people. It‘s great that there‘s the eating area where you can just spend time to talk (sometimes I don‘t like talking at parties because the music is too loud and there‘s no place to sit down and relax). The big cushions are amazing for a rest as well. The DJs are the best and dance level is very good. The food is great, too."

It is not just about the dance itself, but also the precious connections. 💕 This year was made even more special by the Secret Angel game and beautiful festival bracelets. ✨ All the DJs were amazing. DJ Happy Feet never disappoints. DJ Alejandro and DJ Manuel Citro played some really amazing songs. 🎶"

Romantic Grotta

Havlíčkovy Sady, 12000 Prague 2, Czechia

The Grotta is the main attraction of the Havlicek Gardens and looks like a fairytale with its peculiar rock formations. The artificial cave looks unusual on the building and features the arcade promenade which is quite unique in Prague. The Grotta dates back to 1871 to 1888 when it was intricately built by Moritz Grobe, a millionaire. After renovation in 2011, the cave was opened for public.
